Grant Applications

The Trust shows preference for smaller agencies who might not always attract funding from bigger donors. Thus net assets must normally be no larger than £1,000,000 and annual income or expenditure must normally be no larger than £500,000. The charity should not have free reserves greater than one year's funding.

Charities should be based within a 60-mile radius of London to enable visits from the visitor, who is London-based.

The Trust tends to award grants of around £3,000-£5,000; however, in exceptional circumstances larger grants would be considered. Applications have not previously exceeded £10,000.

The Trust currently meets twice a year and your applications should be received by the end of April or October.

If you are a new applicant and are being considered for a grant, a visit will be made at a suitable time to discuss the application and gain further details regarding the charity's objectives, operations and finances. A visit does not automatically mean you have been awarded the grant.

If a grant is awarded the Trust expect to be kept informed of your progress. We request that you complete a monitoring form after six months to keep us informed of your project.

Please note that these are guidelines only and should be treated as such. They are not binding in any way and can be changed by the Trust at any time.
